Originally, exhibits were custom built. In time exhibit systems evolved as an alternative to the high cost of custom craftsmanship. Today there are many exhibit categories. Exhibit systems, which include portable, modular, hybrids, and custom modular exhibits, are evolving toward custom crafted exhibits. Custom exhibits are evolving toward exhibit systems. Both have distinct advantages. Exhibit companies work hard to help you create a custom image weather it is custom or along the portable spectrum. Most quality units will start at 1200.00 with no graphics, and go up from there based on counters, graphics, and acessories. Exhibit manufacturing is a low volume, highly specialized operation.

On average, a high quality portable exhibit will cost between $20 to $152 per-square-foot (psf). A leading modular exhibit will cost from $50 to $298 (psf), and a custom exhibit from a leading custom house will cost from $95 to $300 (psf). The more customized the exhibit system, the closer the price will be to a custom exhibit.

Deciding where to buy

 If you plan to exhibit more than once or twice, chances are you’ll work closely with an experienced exhibit consultant.  Exhibit consultants have years of experience about design, marketing, graphics, and trade show tricks. Their knowledge will help you avoid the pitfalls that most inexperienced trade show marketers make. And, there are lots and lots of expensive pitfalls.
